About the role
Job Summary
As a member of the Electrical Integration and Test (EI&T) team, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of integration and test activities ranging from board-level to system-level campaigns. You will implement the full engineering development cycle to ensure overall spacecraft readiness prior to launch, and will report to the Electrical I&T Lead Engineer on progress.
Responsibilities
- Conduct integration and testing of flight and non-flight electrical systems at the component, subsystem, and spacecraft level.
- Write test plans and procedures to verify functionality of spacecraft components and subsystems responsible for guidance, navigation and control (GNC), RF communications, power distribution, and thermal and propulsion control.
- Automate test execution and data collection using Python, LabVIEW, and related software tools.
- Lead electrical test campaigns by running test readiness reviews, anomaly response teams, and post-test reviews.
- Design electrical test fixtures and ground support equipment for both component and system-level testing.
- Work with outside test facilities to plan and perform off-site testing, and provide support on-location during test execution.
- Collaborate with payload teams to define interface requirements and ensure successful integration of all electrical systems.
- Work closely with Systems Engineers, Design Engineers, and the Program Management Office to ensure I&T activities are conducted to plan and deliver a spacecraft fully certified for flight.
- Ensure the safety of equipment and personnel during the integration process.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years relevant integration and test experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Background in testing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems.
- Experience writing and reviewing test documentation including test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Experience writing, debugging, and executing scripts in Python or a similar programming language.
- Operational knowledge of common electrical test equipment such as bench power supplies, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition systems.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience testing safety-critical hardware and software systems.
- Experience reviewing and modifying technical drawings using Altium or similar electronic design software.
- Experience with environmental testing campaigns such as thermal vacuum, EMI/EMC, and vibration testing. Knowledge of relevant MIL-STD or NASA GEVS standards for testing.
- Experience designing electrical test fixtures or ground support equipment.
- Experience with integration and test campaigns for a spacecraft/satellite project.
- Knowledge of avionics manufacturing processes such as PCB assembly, harness fabrication, and inspection processes.
- Adaptable to startup environment, able to self-start with minimal guidance.
- Experience in a 100K or ISO8 class cleanroom environment.
- IPC-A-610 or IPC-A-620 certification.
