Meet the Team:
The Safety & Regulatory – Product Cybersecurity team ensures the security, integrity, and resilience of Torc’s autonomous vehicle platform across its product lifecycle. The role embeds cybersecurity into autonomous driving systems, works with Compute Platform and Autonomy teams on the Torc Safety Case, and integrates cybersecurity measures across departments.
What You’ll Do:
- Define and evaluate cybersecurity controls, including embedded operating systems, encryption, access controls, network security, middleware, and secure coding practices.
- Implement cybersecurity for embedded operating systems, networking, and cryptographic controls, including embedded Linux, QNX, Ethernet, and cellular telematics.
- Conduct cross-functional activities to define requirements, identify design deficiencies, detect implementation defects, verify cybersecurity posture, and secure products.
- Embed security into product design, development lifecycles, and software development activities.
- Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies and update security approaches, strategies, and solutions.
- Liaise with external security vendors and partners and integrate third-party security solutions.
- Prepare and present cybersecurity-case evidence for product launches and software releases.
- Train stakeholders and provide expert cybersecurity assistance.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience with safety-critical, cyber-physical systems such as automotive, aerospace, or medical systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical field, plus demonstrated competencies typically acquired through 6+ years of experience.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity for embedded, automotive, and autonomous systems.
- Working knowledge of embedded operating systems including Linux, QNX, and AUTOSAR, and embedded networking.
- Ability to recognize software and hardware weaknesses and document them through threat modeling.
Bonus Points:
- Autonomous vehicle industry experience, particularly L4 self-driving technology.
- Embedded automotive systems and embedded threat-modeling experience.
- Classic AUTOSAR experience.
- Knowledge of secure development lifecycles such as Microsoft SDL, ISO 21434, or AVCDL.
