Job Purpose:
The Company is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter who is looking for a challenging career with a fast-growing company in specialty pharmacy management services. We are seeking experienced pharmacy technicians who are registered with the state of employment. Nationally certified as a CPhT is preferred but not required. Critical to this position is the ability to work independently and establish strong and credible relationships with patients, clinicians, and internal Shields staff. Applicants should be results-oriented with a positive outlook, a clear focus on high patient quality and service, strong attention to detail, and strong administrative and organizational skills. The applicant must be mature, approachable, professional, reliable, tolerant, determined, and an empathetic communicator who can work as a member of a close-knit team.
Provides integrated support to patients and pharmacists through a hands-on approach to total quality patient care. Works closely with patients to deliver a full continuum of medication adherence support using various tools and applications. Encourages patients of specialty clinics to utilize pharmacy services. The Pharmacy Liaison will be located in one of the medical center clinics and must seamlessly integrate with the clinic team, including doctors, nurses, and staff.
Job Duties:
- Provide legendary care to hospital patients through a full suite of custom medication management services.
- Work seamlessly alongside hospital clinicians to serve patients face-to-face and over the phone.
- Educate prospective pharmacy patients on how the hospital serves patients and improves their overall care.
- Support outpatient retail and specialty prescription medication needs.
- Grow the specialty pharmacy patient population.
- Ensure patients remain on track with medication regimens through outbound therapy and medication adherence check-ups; secure refill prescriptions.
- Communicate effectively with the centralized Patient Service Center regarding the refill report, zero-fill report, monthly outstanding report, and appointment list.
- Help develop new processes to ensure smooth operations and patient care.
- Identify medications requiring special storage or handling, including hazardous and refrigerated medications.
- Identify supplies necessary for select medications, such as sharps containers, needles, syringes, alcohol swabs, and Band-Aids.
- Answer, resolve, and triage inbound inquiries.
- Perform refill reminder calls under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Resolve insurance-related issues, including prior authorizations, and assist patients with financial assistance.
- Ensure appropriate documentation in required systems and tracking mechanisms.
- Manage, organize, and update relevant data using database applications.
- Apply observations and recommendations to operational issues, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.
- Identify trends, resolve problems, recommend improvements, and implement change.
- Actively participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Act as a value-added business partner to stakeholders throughout the organization.
- Protect organizational value by keeping information confidential.
- Update knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, networks, and professional organizations.

Experience/Education:
Required Licensure/Certification:
Applicants must be state-registered pharmacy technicians. National certification as a CPhT or equivalent is strongly preferred but not required. If additional licensure is needed, the applicant must commit to obtaining it within a mutually agreed-upon timeframe. Continued employment is contingent upon meeting these requirements.
Years of Experience:
- Required: 2 years.
- Preferred: 3–5 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Computer Skills:
Solid computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for communication, documentation, and data management, as well as navigating the internet and web-based platforms. Data entry and computer skills will be evaluated through an assessment as part of the pre-employment process.
