About the role

About Our Global Engineering Sciences Team:

As part of our expanding Global Engineering and Scientific consulting team, you will work at the forefront of today’s most complex engineering challenges. You will be engaged in analyzing failures of a myriad of products from a variety of industries, including automotive, construction, consumer products, consumer electronics, and medical devices. Secretariat leverages diverse technical expertise and industry knowledge of structures and products to provide clients with world-class value to identify solutions that drive performance and safety.

This position is available in either our Chicago or New York office.

Responsibilities:

  • Exceptional analytical skills, problem solving, communication skills, and creativity are the foundation for successful professionals at Secretariat.
  • Attracting and winning new business opportunities for Secretariat in both expert witness and/or strategic consulting.
  • Contributing to the growth of Secretariat’s Electrical Engineering practice by recruiting talented staff.
  • Mentoring and driving growth of Electrical Engineering staff.
  • Providing project management and project budget oversight.

Qualifications:

  • Established track record for business development and existing client base.
  • Requisite professional degrees and approximately 3–4 years of work experience:
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science and Engineering.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Experience supporting depositions, trials, arbitrations, or hearings.
  • Excellent expert report writing skills to complement analytics.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent listening, verbal, written, technical, and presentation skills.
  • Desire to lead auxiliary tasks associated with a growing practice within a rapidly growing firm.
  • Ability to travel globally as needed.
  • Experience with power electronics, industrial process control, consumer products, circuit analysis, and control systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work odd hours to adjust to client needs globally.
