About the role
About the Role:
Lead merchandising and planning strategies for multiple categories to drive sales and profitability. Support planning analysts and collaborate with merchandising, financial planning, programming, and other cross-functional teams using data analysis and retail-trend knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop merchandise strategies aligned with business goals.
- Provide strategic direction for financial plans and in-season OTB discussions.
- Build assortment strategies supporting financial targets.
- Evaluate category performance against KPIs.
- Conduct advanced data analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
- Manage category plans, budgets, and forecasts.
- Ensure timely and accurate work and improve planning processes and tools.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance planning culture.
- Manage and develop Planning Analysts.
- Build trust with cross-functional partners through data-driven insights.
- Present business cases and support company initiatives.
Experience and Background Needed:
Strategic, data-minded retail professional with commercial acumen, strong collaboration and mentoring abilities, adaptability, accountability, and the ability to translate sales data and market trends into category strategies and financial plans.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or another quantitative field preferred.
Years of experience:
- 3+ years of experience in merchandise planning, retail buying, or a related role.
Technical skills:
- Planning and analytical skills, Excel, and Business Intelligence.
- E-commerce, off-price, and multi-brand retail experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of retail trends, consumer behavior, and market dynamics.
