About the role
Your Impact at LILA:
We are seeking an Enterprise Account Lead, Materials to build and scale an enterprise sales organization, drive deal execution, and grow revenue for Lila's AI-driven materials and chemistry platform. The role owns physical sciences revenue pipeline, prospects, qualifies, and closes enterprise deals, translates technical capabilities into contracts, delivers market insights, and contributes to product and customer strategy.
What You'll Be Building:
- Build, manage, and grow a qualified pipeline from opportunity identification through close.
- Lead complex sales cycles across R&D, technology, data/AI, and business leadership.
- Maintain revenue forecasts and deal records.
- Engage physical sciences buyers and explain Lila's position in their R&D stack.
- Own strategic accounts, executive relationships, account planning, expansion, and renewal.
- Manage account research, meeting preparation, customer materials, follow-up, and stakeholders.
- Partner with product, science, and business teams on customer engagements.
- Coordinate technical experts and customer conversations.
- Own technical RFI and DDQ responses.
- Track AI/ML partnerships in physical sciences and inform positioning and competitive strategy.
- Maintain the revenue CRM and build business-development tools, processes, and a repeatable GTM playbook.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- BS, MS, PhD, or equivalent experience in materials, physics, chemical engineering, or an adjacent field.
- 2-5+ years in a client-facing role owning customer outcomes across business development, enterprise sales, management consulting, customer success, or applied science.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, technical, cross-functional environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for R&D buyers and procurement teams.
- Strong organization and execution skills while managing multiple accounts.
- Collaborative working style and ability to build trust with PMs, scientists, engineers, and product leaders.
- Hands-on use of AI tools and interest in AI and autonomous science.
Bonus Points For:
- Familiarity with AI/ML applied to physical sciences, including property prediction, generative materials models, Bayesian optimization, and simulation-driven design.
- Exposure to enterprise R&D buying cycles in materials, semiconductors, or industrial biotechnology.
- Experience selling frontier AI, SaaS, biotech, robotics, or data products to technical buyers.
- Founder or early GTM/commercial experience defining processes, playbooks, and collateral.
- A perspective on where AI is useful in physical sciences R&D.
