Research Product Manager, Fine-tuning

Your Impact at LILA:

Own scientific domain capability priorities for the Lila model, including reinforcement-learning environments and supervised fine-tuning data, and own the roadmap and delivery of fine-tuned model variants for platform and commercial use cases. Define training data, data gaps, evaluations, and release criteria; coordinate validated fine-tunes with app and platform teams; partner with AI Research; represent customer and commercial needs; participate in sprint planning and standups; and track acceptance criteria.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• Experience as a Product Manager on ML/AI products, ideally involving LLM training, fine-tuning, or reinforcement-learning capability development.
• Experience delivering a model or product variant for external or commercial customers, including defining data, evaluations, and release criteria.
• Ability to build and defend a prioritized backlog against scientific, research, and commercial demands.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with research organizations.
• Experience translating ambiguous priorities into sequenced deliverables.

Bonus Points For:

• Familiarity with capability-based LLM training, reinforcement-learning environments, supervised fine-tuning data generation, and evaluations.
• Experience partnering with ML/AI research teams on evaluation design and release criteria.
• Background in a scientific or technical domain.

Compensation:

We offer competitive base compensation with bonus potential and generous early-stage equity. The expected base salary range is $204,000-$310,000 USD. Final offers reflect background, expertise, and expected impact.
