About the role

What You'll Do:

Let's get the tricky part out of the way: this role doesn't fit neatly into a traditional box. It's part legal ops, part product specialist, part solutions architect, and part client whisperer. Your mission is to help clients, including asset managers, fund counsel teams, deal teams, and law firm practices, get the most out of the platform.

Some of what you'll be up to:

  • Act as a thought partner to general counsel, chief compliance officers, and fund formation partners, building trusted relationships, addressing pain points, and identifying opportunities to scale platform usage across strategies, funds, and jurisdictions.
  • Work with Go To Market and Customer Success to own client relationships, run pilots, onboard team members, and guide firm-wide adoption across asset managers and law firms.
  • Be the voice of asset management users inside Legora by sharing insights that inform product development, roadmap priorities, and strategic direction.
  • Deliver product demos and training for legal, compliance, investment operations, and deal teams.
  • Document best practices, contribute to scalable playbooks, and help shape global growth of the function.
  • Help asset management teams evaluate the ROI and competitive advantage of AI and map its impact across functions including fund formation, side letter negotiation, regulatory compliance, and investor reporting.
  • Navigate requirements of regulated financial institutions, including confidentiality expectations, information barriers, vendor due diligence, and SEC oversight.
  • Partner with deal teams on transaction workflows, including diligence grids, closing checklists, and document review processes across M&A, growth, and venture transactions.

What You Bring:

You come from the world of funds, asset management, or M&A. You may have practiced as a private funds associate at a law firm, worked in-house at an asset manager, built a career in compliance, or worked in M&A or ECVC. You understand how asset management and funds teams think and work and are ready to help them use technology more effectively.

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Hold a law degree (JD or equivalent) and bring 3+ years of experience in a private funds or M&A/ECVC practice at a law firm, in-house at an asset management firm, or in a regulatory or compliance function.
  • Understand fund lifecycles, GP/LP dynamics, side letter and MFN obligations, subscription documents, DDQs, and the regulatory landscape, including the Advisers Act, Marketing Rule, Form ADV, Form PF, and SEC exam readiness.
  • Are tech-curious and product-savvy, with an interest in generative AI, technology implementation, innovation, and productivity.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with diverse stakeholders, from general counsel and chief compliance officers to investor relations teams and engineers.
  • Bring structure to ambiguity and energy to complexity while remaining a calm, credible presence in a fast-moving environment.
  • Know how to evaluate and improve processes using new and emerging technologies, including fund formation, side letter review, investor obligation tracking, DDQ and RFP responses, and compliance and marketing reviews.
  • Are proactive, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple client relationships.
  • Care deeply about quality while maintaining momentum and continuously improving work.
  • Understand the commercial realities of asset management, including fundraising timelines, investor expectations, regulatory scrutiny, legal and compliance budgets, and the balance between speed and rigor.
