About the role
About the Role
We're looking for a technically skilled Implementation Engineer to support our clients' ongoing technical operations and critical system transitions. You'll ensure seamless integrations between Laurel and client Practice Management Systems, ERP platforms, and other business-critical systems, resolve complex technical issues, and guide clients through high-stakes system migrations.
Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA is important, including an understanding of ERP integrations, data flows, system dependencies, and troubleshooting across connected platforms. Experience with other enterprise ERP systems is valuable.
This role combines DevOps monitoring, technical troubleshooting, ERP and PMS integrations, and client-facing support. You'll investigate issues across Laurel, SAP S/4HANA and other ERP environments, Practice Management Systems, APIs, and related integration layers to identify root causes and coordinate resolutions.
Client Integrations (30%)
- Build or customize Boomi processes for client system integration with Laurel.
- Test deployed Boomi processes and validate data integrity.
- Support transitions between billing systems and coordinate migration activities with zero-downtime requirements.
- Provide urgent support during high-pressure go-live periods.
- Document processes and lessons learned.
DevOps & System Monitoring (25%)
- Monitor integration health across client environments.
- Investigate and resolve system alerts affecting client billing systems.
- Manage Boomi Atom monitoring and respond to shutdowns and flow exceptions.
- Troubleshoot data flow issues and implement fixes.
- Perform root cause analysis and preventative improvements.
- Coordinate system shutdowns during critical incidents.
- Optimize integration performance.
Internal Support Escalation (25%)
- Serve as Level 2 technical escalation for synchronization issues.
- Support Principal Partner Engineers with complex troubleshooting.
- Diagnose issues spanning Laurel, Boomi, client PMS, and productivity tools.
- Document issue patterns and create knowledge base articles.
- Collaborate with Engineering on code fixes and feature modifications.
- Maintain internal support and troubleshooting tools.
Client Technical Support (20%)
- Communicate with client IT and technical contacts during escalations and outages.
- Explain technical issues and resolutions clearly.
- Coordinate with client technical teams to resolve integration issues.
- Build relationships with key technical contacts.
- Participate in client check-in meetings.
- Provide incident status updates and manage resolution expectations.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of technical experience in integration engineering, DevOps, technical support, or a similar role.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with REST APIs, SQL queries, and databases.
- Experience with iPaaS tools such as Boomi, MuleSoft, or Zapier.
- Familiarity with alerting systems, log analysis, and proactive monitoring.
- Client-facing communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and methodical during time-sensitive issues.
- Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with legal tech, professional services software, human capital management services, or time and billing systems.
- Familiarity with SSO, SAML, and OAuth.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 integrations, including Exchange, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience supporting SaaS applications in enterprise environments.
- Scripting and automation skills.
- Understanding of data validation and reconciliation.
Technical Skills
- SAP S/4HANA technical integration, BTP, REST APIs, and ERP architecture.
- SQL query writing and database troubleshooting.
- REST API testing and debugging.
- Log analysis and pattern recognition.
- Scripting for automation and data manipulation.
- Data synchronization patterns and ETL processes.
- Ticket and case management systems.
Why This Role Matters
You'll protect client revenue by ensuring critical integrations, time capture, billing, and system migrations work reliably. You'll work with a small, highly skilled team and develop deep knowledge of how data flows through the entire ecosystem.
What Success Looks Like

- In 90 days: Own monitoring and alerting workflows, build client relationships, identify issues proactively, improve processes, and support a system migration.

You'll join the Implementation team, which owns the technical relationship between Laurel and client Practice Management Systems. The team handles feature development, DevOps monitoring, performance optimization, troubleshooting, and new implementations throughout the customer lifecycle.
