Android Mobile Engineer

Overview:

The Infosys Digital Experience (DX) unit powers businesses across the entire customer experience journey by re-imagining, creating, and delivering integrated and personalized experiences. The unit specializes in creating human-centered digital platforms that help enterprises stay relevant by transforming business models, future-proofing operations, and bringing agility and responsiveness.

Area of Responsibility:

• Contribute to requirements elicitation by documenting assigned parts of business requirements.
• Facilitate software application design discussions and document design decisions.
• Participate in coding and integrate new features or updates into existing applications.
• Conduct code reviews, make changes to the codebase, and maintain code repositories.
• Implement test strategies, analyze results, and coordinate bug fixes.
• Develop user training programs, documentation, and support frameworks.
• Resolve production issues and recommend preventive strategies.
• Maintain detailed records of code, testing techniques, and support activities.

Contribution to the Team:

• Collaborate effectively and communicate clearly.
• Handle end-to-end SDLC phases from requirements gathering through implementation.
• Translate complex requirements into actionable development tasks.
• Apply design skills and hands-on coding experience.
• Test, troubleshoot, and refine applications.
• Work with cross-functional teams on software integration.

Required Skill and Experience:

• Demonstrable portfolio of released applications on the App Store or Android market.
• Experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale solutions in production environments.
• Experience providing technical leadership.
• Airline industry experience.

Preferred Skill and Experience:

• Proficiency with Java or Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Firebase, Spring Boot, GitHub, Couchbase, Couchbase Lite, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, Azure, AWS, Espresso, UI Automator, JUnit, and Appium.
• Optimize mobile application performance, efficiency, responsiveness, security, and privacy.
• Communicate ideas verbally, in writing, in code, and in diagrams.
• Optimize system designs across multiple teams for small, safe, incremental releases.
• Share responsibilities cooperatively, mentor team members, and train others on best practices.
• Apply Agile methodologies such as Scrum and DevOps toolchain practices, including continuous integration and continuous deployment.
• Apply observability principles and tools for logging, monitoring, alerting, change management, and incident management.
• Leverage AI platforms such as GitHub Copilot for productivity improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Write, test, and document code, scripts, and processes.
• Solve technical problems and build impactful components and libraries.
• Deliver high-quality work and mentor junior engineers.
• Conduct root cause analysis and lead action plans.
• Design integrated systems that enable cross-functional teams to deliver value at scale, speed, and reliability.
• Manage technical debt and drive initiatives to eliminate it.
• Anticipate scaling, latency, and durability challenges.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement secure practices early in development.
• Assess technical risks and implement prevention strategies.
• Evaluate delivery practices, recommend improvements, and drive change.
• Identify and eliminate duplication of effort and promote reuse.
• Measure team performance and support individual development.
• Explore emerging technologies, lead prototype development, and incorporate them into architectural solutions.
• Coordinate between distributed delivery teams and the business.

Additional Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution. Three years of progressive experience in the specialty may be considered in lieu of each year of education.
• This position may require relocation and/or travel to the work or project location.
