Roles and Responsibilities:
- Define project objectives and scope in alignment with business goals, ensuring efficient delivery in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Coordinate sprint planning and meetings with technical teams and stakeholders while building and maintaining relationships with mid-level and senior client representatives.
- Evaluate project deliverables and drive initiatives to adopt new methodologies and tools that enhance project execution and outcomes.
- Identify and mitigate risks proactively while working with quality assurance teams to embed quality planning into project workflows and deliverables.
- Develop and run project estimates, monitor budget performance, and optimize resource allocation for efficiency.
- Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, aligning them with client needs and organizational capabilities.
- Engage in planning resource allocation, conduct performance appraisals, and facilitate professional development to enhance team effectiveness.
Required Skill and Experience:
SAP Project Manager with deep expertise leading brownfield conversions to SAP S/4HANA within regulated pharma and life sciences environments. This role owns end-to-end program delivery across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Commercial functions while ensuring compliance with GxP/CSV, SOX, FDA/UDI, and Pharma Quality standards. The role also includes cutover management leadership across business, IT, data, technical, and manufacturing sites.
The ideal candidate has hands-on delivery of at least one S/4HANA brownfield implementation, strong SAP Activate knowledge, proven system integrator management experience, and extensive execution of cutover cycles, mock conversions, and downtime orchestration in complex global landscapes.
- Lead the end-to-end S/4HANA brownfield conversion lifecycle from discovery through stabilization.
- Own program governance, including scope, budget, schedule, RAID, dependencies, KPIs, and executive reporting.
- Manage SAP Activate across Discover, Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy, and Run.
- Facilitate cross-functional governance forums, steering committees, and risk escalation trajectories.
- Drive SAP Readiness Check, Simplification Item evaluation, Custom Code Analysis, sizing, and compatibility validation.
- Oversee technical conversion with BASIS and infrastructure teams using SUM/DMO, Maintenance Planner, Stack XML generation, dual maintenance, and downtime reduction planning.
- Lead custom code remediation, Fiori activation, Business Partner conversion, data migration, mock conversions, and system preparation.
- Lead cutover strategy, governance, planning, mock cutovers, dress rehearsals, command center execution, go-live, and hypercare support.
- Ensure GxP and CSV-aligned documentation, audit trail controls, change control approvals, batch-impact assessments, and compliance with 21 CFR Part 11, UDI, ISO 13485, and internal QMS procedures.
- Manage data cleansing, mapping, validation, mock conversion testing, reconciliation, and signoffs.
- Coordinate 24×7 execution teams, issue triage, escalation, milestone communication, freeze periods, and validation controls.
Preferred Skill and Experience:
- At least one end-to-end S/4HANA brownfield conversion delivered in a global environment.
- Strong command of SAP Activate, RAID management, budget control, and executive communications.
- Experience in life sciences, medical devices, or pharmaceuticals with GxP/CSV and SOX compliance.
- Proven leadership of system integrators and distributed teams.
- Experience with SUM/DMO, Simplification Items, Fiori, Business Partner conversion, and custom code remediation.
- Expertise coordinating SAP FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, QM, EWM/TM, and MDG workstreams.
- Preferred certifications include PMP, Prince2, PMI-ACP, CSM/SAFe, or SAP Activate Project Manager.
- Experience with SAP Signavio, Focused Build, SAP Cloud ALM/SolMan, and Tricentis Tosca.
- Knowledge of serialization/UDI, labeling, quality systems, data migration tools, archiving, security design, GRC, and SoD.
- Experience coordinating multi-region go-lives and downtime minimization strategies.
Additional Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of each year of education.
