Overview:
The Strategic Technology Group (STG) unit at Infosys is designed for power programmers and senior technologists who want to go beyond traditional development roles and take on complex, large-scale technology challenges. The STG unit brings together Specialist Programmers, Senior Technologists, and Technical Leaders who possess deep expertise across software design and development, cloud-native architectures, enterprise platforms, data engineering, and emerging technologies, including generative AI and agentic AI. Members of the STG unit play a strategic role in shaping technology direction, solving complex business challenges, and delivering resilient, high-quality outcomes. They are expected to demonstrate strong technical depth, sound architectural judgment, and hands-on leadership, while mentoring teams and influencing best practices across programs. The STG unit emphasizes software development excellence, innovation, and continuous upskilling.
Area of Responsibility:
- Analyze user stories and use cases to ensure accurate understanding for production-ready delivery.
- Contribute to defining design specifications and technology frameworks and assist in creating reusable assets.
- Deliver high-quality, optimized, and efficient code across applications and databases.
- Debug complex routines and build automation.
- Support a robust technical environment and error-free coding.
- Participate in knowledge transfer sessions and assist with reverse engineering methodologies.
- Assist in deploying solutions for future projects through initial prototypes.
- Facilitate adoption of emerging technologies through proof-of-concept initiatives.
- Support implementation of technical services meeting quality-of-service requirements.
- Contribute to reusable assets focused on productivity improvement.
- Support resolution of critical production issues.
- Interface with customers during warranty support.

Required Skill and Experience:
- Experience developing and applying generative AI models.
- Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals, deep learning architectures, and natural language processing.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Design, develop, and deploy generative AI models for applications such as text generation, image creation, and code synthesis.
- Fine-tune pre-trained large language models for specific tasks and domains.
- Manage the AI development lifecycle from data preprocessing and model training through evaluation, optimization, and deployment.
- Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers.
- Stay current with generative AI research and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Champion responsible AI practices, including bias mitigation, fairness, and explainability.
Preferred Skill and Experience:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as OpenShift, AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with open-source tools and technologies.
- Consistent scores on coding sites such as HackerRank or CodeChef.
- Industry-acclaimed external certifications, if applicable.
- Active participation in technology forums.
- Contributions to the open-source community.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mindset.
- Experience working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Additional Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution. Three years of progressive experience in the specialty may be considered in lieu of each year of education.
