About the role

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Software Engineering team builds and improves the software that makes up Immuta’s product. The team works across the front end and back end to turn product ideas and customer needs into experiences and services that help organizations use data safely and effectively.

As a Full-Stack Engineering Intern, you’ll work alongside software engineers and collaborate with teammates across product development. You’ll have the opportunity to understand how a product works across the stack, from the user experience and application layer to the services and systems behind it.

YOUR INTERNSHIP

At Immuta, interns are treated like members of the team. You’ll join the team’s regular workflow, contribute to real work, and take on responsibilities that reflect your skills and the team’s priorities.

The exact projects will depend on what the team is working on next summer, but you can expect to:

  • Join the Full-Stack Engineering team as an engineer, rather than working on a separate intern-only project.
  • Build, test, improve, and maintain software that supports Immuta’s product.
  • Work across parts of the product stack, including user-facing experiences, application services, APIs, and backend systems.
  • Collaborate with teammates to understand problems, explore solutions, and build things that are useful to customers.
  • Develop your skills through the team’s normal engineering workflow, including coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and collaboration.
  • Explore how AI and agent-based capabilities can be used to build better software and product experiences.
  • Take ownership of well-scoped work, communicate your progress, and ask questions when you need context or support.

TOOLS & TECHNOLOGIES

Depending on your role, you may work with:

  • JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Web application frameworks and user-facing product experiences
  • Node.js or other backend services
  • APIs and data-driven application workflows
  • Testing, debugging, version control, and code review workflows
  • AI-enabled tools and workflows used by your team

You do not need to know every tool listed above. We’re looking for a strong foundation, curiosity, and the ability to learn.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • A foundation in software engineering and experience with at least one programming language.
  • A clear interest in building things and solving practical problems.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience beyond coursework, such as an internship, hackathon, side project, or other extracurricular experience, is a plus.
  • Interest in JavaScript, AI, or building agent-based applications is a plus.
