About the role

Essential job responsibilities

  • Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values.
  • Values and understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates.
  • Maintains responsibility for renewals, policy review, loss analysis, program design, data completeness, coverage and premium discrepancies, new business, and new accounts.
  • Maintains knowledge of clients’ business operations, strategies, and needs.
  • Creates renewal game plans, completes coverage analyses, reviews policies and documents, and facilitates stakeholder and client meetings.
  • Crafts marketing strategies, reviews submissions, negotiates with underwriters, and determines proposal content.
  • Develops carrier relationships and pursues ongoing education about industry trends, products, and services.
  • Manages a book of business exceeding $1.3 million in revenue, including large and complex accounts.
  • Supports producers in winning new business.
  • Aligns insurance programs with clients’ priorities, risk-management goals, business philosophy, and risk tolerance.
  • Builds long-term client partnerships and provides management and coaching for Level 2 Account Executives.

Required Experience and Skills

  • At least 10 years of experience in insurance or a related industry.
  • Strategic thinking based on client priorities and marketplace cycles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience leading and developing people.
  • Ability to delegate and hold teams and partners accountable.
  • Applied Epic experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office experience required, including PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Travel required, up to 40% based on the client book of business.
  • Ability to understand clients’ businesses and match insurance protection to their risk tolerance and policy terms and conditions.
  • Strengthens the IMA brand as a subject matter expert through conferences, white papers, and carrier relationships.
  • General insurance designation required.
  • Formal specialty designation such as ARM, CPCU, or an industry-specific designation required.

Final offer amounts depend on geographic location, prior relevant experience, and the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
