About the role

About the role:

As a Territory Manager at Halter, you will play a critical role in driving new business growth and ensuring customer success within your designated territory. You will execute sales strategies, build strong customer relationships, meet ambitious growth targets, and act as Halter’s on-the-ground representative. This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach focused on expansion and long-term customer satisfaction. You will work closely with Product, Support, and Customer Onboarding teams to share field insights and ensure Halter’s technology meets the needs of US farmers.

Your day-to-day could include helping customers gather cattle on horseback or by side-by-side, discussing Halter’s benefits for their pastures, or attending industry events.

This role covers Central Nebraska, ideally in Grand Island. Frequent travel is required.

What your day could look like:

  • Prospecting New Business: Build a new business pipeline through outbound lead generation, local cattle auctions, industry associations, and timely follow-up on inbound leads.
  • In-Field Sales: Meet potential customers on ranches and demonstrate the value of Halter.
  • Expanding Existing Opportunities: Expand existing customer relationships and identify opportunities to increase value over time.
  • Hitting Sales Targets: Manage the sales pipeline, qualify leads, and meet high-growth sales targets.
  • Customer Account Management: Maintain customer relationships, provide support, address challenges, and ensure smooth handoff to customer onboarding and deployment.
  • Territory Ownership: Own the territory, build relationships with stakeholders and regional agricultural groups, and represent Halter locally.
  • Customer Onboarding: Own the end-to-end customer experience during onboarding and deployment.
  • Field Learnings & Feedback: Gather customer feedback and advocate for customer needs.
  • Collaborating with Support Teams: Work with internal partners to resolve customer issues and escalate problems as needed.
  • Attending Industry Events: Generate leads, deepen customer relationships, participate in demonstrations, and expand Halter’s market influence.
  • Contributing to the US Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the broader team to optimize and evolve the sales process for the US market.

You’ll be great if you exhibit:

  • Driven Attitude & Communication skills: Results-driven, motivated, adaptable, proactive, and skilled at communicating with customers and internal teams.
  • Ranching / Cattle Experience: Knowledge of ranching or cattle operations and the ability to connect meaningfully with customers.
  • Sales & Customer Success Expertise: Experience creating new business opportunities, conducting value-based sales conversations, building lasting customer relationships, and expanding existing accounts.
  • Territory Management experience: Experience managing a large territory with a balanced focus on sales and customer success, ideally in agriculture or technology.
  • Problem Solving & Collaboration ability: Resourceful, quick-thinking, and effective in cross-functional collaboration.
  • Willingness to Travel: Frequent travel within the territory to engage with customers and prospects.

Bonus things you could bring along to the role:

  • Familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies.
  • Experience in customer-facing agriculture technology roles.
  • Experience selling software (SaaS) solutions in a B2B environment.

Our Benefits:

  • Annual USD$750 self-development budget.
  • Health insurance benefits.
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave for primary caregivers and 8 weeks for secondary caregivers.
  • Wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave.
  • 401k with employer matching.
