About the role
About Halter:
At Halter, we’re on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations. Our customers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional practices. Imagine watching 500 cattle stand up and walk calmly towards their next break? No quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. Just a group of cattle walking at their own pace. People say it looks like magic. Our customers are revolutionizing grazing with Halter. It's changing lives and transforming an industry. People join Halter to do meaningful work. By joining us you’ll be solving challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out-think, out-work and out-care. We’re committed to delivering real change in the world - this isn’t easy, and in truth, we love that it’s hard.
About the role:
As a Territory Manager at Halter, you will play a critical role in driving new business growth and ensuring customer success within your designated territory. You will be responsible for executing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and meeting ambitious growth targets, all while acting as Halter’s on-the-ground representative. This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach, with a focus on both expansion and long-term customer satisfaction. In this role, you will prioritize daily efforts that optimize performance and drive value for your customers. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Support, and Customer Onboarding, you’ll share field insights to ensure Halter’s technology continues to meet the needs of US farmers.
Your day-to-day could include being on horseback, helping customers gather their cattle, on a side-by-side traversing their pastures, talking about how Halter could benefit their pastures, or attending industry events like CattleCon or your local Livestock Association meetups.
This role covers the South East region in Nebraska, ideally in Columbus. Frequent travel is required as apart of this role.
What your day could look like:
- Prospecting New Business: Build a new business pipeline through outbound lead generation, field activities, local cattle auctions, and industry associations. Field inbound leads promptly and prioritize administrative tasks alongside in-field activities.
- In-Field Sales: Meet potential customers on ranches and explain the value of Halter’s solutions.
- Expanding Existing Opportunities: Expand existing customer relationships and identify new ways to increase value over time.
- Hitting Sales Targets: Manage the sales pipeline, qualify leads, and meet ambitious growth targets.
- Customer Account Management: Maintain customer relationships after the sale, provide support, address challenges, and ensure smooth handoff to customer onboarding and deployment.
- Territory Ownership: Own the territory, build relationships with agricultural groups, and meet stakeholders from local, state, and federal agencies.
- Customer Onboarding: Own the end-to-end customer experience during onboarding and deployment.
- Field Learnings & Feedback: Gather customer feedback and advocate for customer needs.
- Collaborating with Support Teams: Work with cross-functional partners to resolve customer issues.
- Attending Industry Events: Generate leads, deepen customer relationships, participate in demonstrations, and network.
- Contributing to the US Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the broader team to optimize and evolve the sales process for the US market.
You’ll be great if you exhibit:
- Driven Attitude & Communication skills: Results-driven, motivated, adaptable, proactive, and skilled at communicating with customers and internal teams.
- Ranching / Cattle Experience: Understanding of ranching or cattle operations and their industry challenges.
- Sales & Customer Success Expertise: Experience creating new business opportunities, negotiating value-based sales conversations, building lasting customer relationships, and expanding accounts through upsell opportunities.
- Territory Management experience: Experience managing a large territory with a balanced focus on sales and customer success, ideally within agriculture or technology.
- Problem Solving & Collaboration ability: Resourceful and quick-thinking, with the ability to work cross-functionally to address challenges and drive solutions.
- Willingness to Travel: Frequent travel within the territory.
Bonus things you could bring along to the role:
