About the role
The Role
The Autonomous Factory Systems team builds software for autonomous factories, including robotics, perception, behaviors, planning, collision avoidance, high-level control, orchestration, and hardware abstraction. Lead the Systems Test division by building the test engineering team, owning test plan coverage, and directing simulation test environments.
What You’ll Do
- Build and lead the Systems Test division, hiring and growing test and simulation test engineers.
- Drive test plan coverage from early development through production release.
- Direct simulation testing for edge cases, off-nominal conditions, and manufacturing cell operation.
- Set test direction across hardware, robotics, machines, and orchestration software.
- Define test architecture, simulation methodology, engineering standards, and quality gates.
- Partner with hardware, robotics, and software integration teams to embed testability into system design.
What We’re Looking For
- B.S. in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of systems or test engineering experience with complex electromechanical or robotic systems.
- Experience building test strategies for integrated hardware and software systems.
- Experience directing simulation environments for system behavior, edge cases, and failure modes.
- Familiarity with robotics, industrial automation, or manufacturing cells.
- Technical leadership experience and excellent communication skills.
What Will Set You Apart
- Continuous integration and test pipelines for hardware-in-the-loop or simulation-in-the-loop systems.
- Functional safety, reliability engineering, or systems validation experience.
- Experience establishing a new engineering team or function.
Compensation
The target salary range is $240,000 - $299,000, with the actual range varying based on experience.
Benefits for Full-time Employees
- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
