About the role

Who We Are:

GITAI is a vertically integrated space and defense company building the next generation of hardware for low-Earth-orbit missions. The company develops satellite buses, in-orbit servicing robotics, and mission hardware for Earth observation and U.S. national security missions.

Your Mission:

As a Senior Electrical Engineer at GITAI, you will own electrical hardware from circuit design through PCB design, bring-up, integration, and test. You will independently design and debug digital and analog circuits, develop PCBAs from schematic through layout, and verify hardware through hands-on testing. You will provide deep expertise in at least one area such as power electronics, RF, FPGA-based systems, high-speed digital, or motor control. This is a hands-on Senior IC role involving technical decisions, design reviews, guidance for other engineers, and cross-functional work.

What You’ll Drive:

  • Own electrical hardware from digital and analog circuit design through schematic capture, PCB layout, fabrication, bring-up, integration, and test.
  • Design, review, and debug PCBAs using Altium or similar ECAD tools and standard electrical lab equipment.
  • Serve as a technical leader in at least one specialized electrical domain.
  • Lead design reviews and help engineers solve complex electrical hardware problems.
  • Drive cross-functional decisions across mechanical, firmware, software, systems, manufacturing, suppliers, and test teams.
  • Make trade-offs across performance, reliability, manufacturability, component availability, thermal constraints, schedule, and cost.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and corrective design changes when hardware fails.
  • Continuously improve how the team designs and builds hardware.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
  • 5+ years of hands-on electrical hardware development experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in digital and analog circuit design.
  • Ability to take PCBAs from schematic design and PCB layout through fabrication, bring-up, debugging, and test.
  • Deep technical expertise in power electronics, RF, FPGA-based systems, high-speed digital, motor control, or another relevant electrical engineering domain.
  • Ability to lead technical decisions and develop other engineers through design reviews, debugging, and hands-on guidance.
  • Experience with Altium or similar ECAD tools, PCB fabrication and assembly, and electrical lab equipment.
  • Ability to drive technical work across multiple engineering disciplines under incomplete or changing requirements.
  • Strong engineering judgment, curiosity, and willingness to adopt improved tools and methods.
  • Willingness to stay personally accountable for getting hardware from design to working system.
  • 1+ year of full-time experience at an early-stage hardware startup, ideally Seed through Series B.
  • U.S. citizenship required, as the role supports U.S. government space and defense programs and may require security-clearance eligibility.

Benefits:

  • Health insurance with company-paid employee medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) plan with company match up to 3.5%.
  • Equity eligibility depending on role.
  • Relocation support for qualifying positions.
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave.
  • Free snacks and drinks, plus regular team events.

Important Notice:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR, employees must meet applicable citizenship, permanent-resident, refugee, asylum, or authorization requirements.
  • GITAI USA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
