Accounting Intern – Operations Accounting As an Accounting Intern, you will support our Operations Accounting department, which handles the capital and operating costs of our upstream & midstream assets, lease acquisitions, and reserves. You'll gain hands-on energy industry experience, support financial statement close processes, and apply your accounting skills to real-world work.
The Accounting Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform journal entries supporting month-end and ad hoc close activity
- Perform account reconciliations, validating balances and resolving variances
- Analyze financial results and identify trends ahead of reporting deadlines
- Review non-op JIB invoices for accuracy before payment
- Assist with recording and tracking land and lease activity
- Assist with LOE & O&M expense reviews against budget
- Assist with data validation and testing for accounting processes
- Gain exposure to AI and automation tools that streamline accounting tasks
Required Experience and Skills:
- Open to all Accounting majors, undergraduate and graduate
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Accounting degree program
- Must have completed at least sophomore year at an accredited 4-year program prior to the internship start
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
- Experience with large data sets and BI tools preferred, not required
- Preference for candidates who reside in EQT's operating areas (Southwestern, PA, WV, OH)
Remote work is being considered for this role, excluding: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee.
