Come join our team! EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants is a growing insurance brokerage with over 4,000 employees nationwide. This role will be located out of the Los Angeles or Newport Beach office, with a 2x a week in-office requirement.
Summary:
The Claims Advocate supports a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industry verticals and serves as a trusted claims resource to clients, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with reporting Property & Casualty claims and interpret policies to determine applicable coverage.
- Act as a liaison between clients and insurers to ensure claims are handled timely and achieve the best possible outcome.
- Help clients resolve coverage issues and negotiate settlements.
- Review summons and complaints for proper handling and reporting to carriers.
- Respond to inquiries from clients, adjusters, producers, attorneys, and claimants.
- Set up and maintain claim files and prepare correspondence.
- Document claim activity and communications in agency management systems.
- Notify account managers and producers of service, claims, or coverage concerns.
- Notify Loss Control of potential safety issues related to claims.
- Monitor claims through satisfactory conclusion and participate in carrier claim reviews.
- Support clients across varied industries and risk profiles.
- Manage priorities and workflow to process responsibilities efficiently and timely.
- Maintain effective relationships with clients, carriers, vendors, business partners, and internal teams.
- Communicate information, guidance, and support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Remain informed about legislative developments, coverage changes, market trends, carrier programs, and emerging technology.
- Local travel may be required periodically.
Key Competencies:
- Knowledge of Property & Casualty coverage forms, claims processes, and industry practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, oral, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize assignments, work in a team, exercise good judgment, and handle sensitive situations.
Education and/or Experience:
- 3-5 years of Property & Casualty claims experience, which may be gained with a broker, insurance carrier, or third-party administrator.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people and work independently with little supervision.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid P&C Brokers License.
Compensation:
The national average salary for this role is $95,000 to $105,000 in base pay, exclusive of bonuses and benefits. Compensation depends on experience, skills, training, certifications, education, internal equity, and market data.
