About the role

About the Team

DoorDash Drive is our company's hyper-growth platform team serving restaurants, grocers and retailers across the United States, Canada and Australia. The Logistics team is responsible for driving the strategy, profitability, and operations across each vertical. In this fast-growing, high-energy environment, you'll drive innovation while maintaining a strong focus on quality and efficiency.

About the Role

This role owns the cost and capacity strategy of our sort network, partnering closely with the Sort Quality lead to balance efficiency and service. Reporting to the Director of Sort Operations & Network Strategy, this role is central to how we scale our sort footprint cost-effectively.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Own capacity planning — Build forward-looking capacity models across the sort network, forecasting volume growth against facility and automation throughput to prevent bottlenecks
  • Drive automation strategy — Identify and lead automation investments that reduce cost-per-unit while maintaining sort quality
  • Lead real estate procurement — Own site selection and lease negotiation for new sort facilities in partnership with Real Estate and Finance
  • Negotiate 3PL contracts — Lead commercial negotiations with 3PL partners to optimize cost, terms, and service levels
  • Diversify the 3PL network — Build a multi-provider strategy that reduces concentration risk and strengthens negotiating leverage
  • Partner cross-functionally — Work with Finance, Real Estate, Automation Engineering, and the Sort Quality lead to align cost strategy with service and growth targets

We're excited about you because…

  • You're analytical and financially fluent — comfortable modeling cost-per-unit, capacity, and ROI trade-offs
  • You have direct experience negotiating commercial contracts (3PL, real estate, or vendor)
  • You've led or influenced automation/capex decisions
  • You operate well cross-functionally and can influence without direct authority
  • You have 6+ years in network strategy, logistics, procurement, or operations
