About the role
Role overview:
Own design end-to-end for a core area of the Dispatch platform: the custodian and data workflows at the center of how firms move and manage client data. You are accountable for the quality of what ships, not just the spec.
Lead the definition of high-impact product experiences, from problem decomposition and discovery to defining experience requirements, crafting workflows, and delivering high-fidelity designs.
Design complex, data-dense UX for financial advisors and the teams who support them by turning large, messy data into something legible and usable.
Weave new capabilities into existing user-facing workflows so the product stays coherent and scalable as it grows.
Shape how product design integrates with engineering and product management through close collaboration, iterative prototyping, and hands-on implementation guidance.
Contribute to growing and advocating for design as a function at Dispatch, building foundational structures such as the design system.
Experience & Background:
5+ years of experience in product design, UX, or HCI, with a proven ability to execute high-craft, technically informed solutions and ship complex work end-to-end.
A portfolio showing comprehensive ownership from discovery through shipped features on real products with real constraints.
Experience designing complex, data-dense interfaces or workflow tools.
Meaningful contribution to a design system, including components, patterns, or documentation owned, maintained, and championed.
Experience planning and running research and usability testing and turning findings into design decisions.
Ability to communicate the why behind design decisions and navigate complex requirements across engineering, product, and business.
Comfort operating in ambiguity with a proactive approach to problem-solving in mission-critical, time-sensitive environments.
Characteristics:
Sharp judgment and first-principles reasoning.
High standards for spacing, hierarchy, interaction, and error states.
Bias for action and ability to drive decisions to closure.
Driven, proactive, and intrinsically motivated.
Collaborative, low-ego partnership with product managers and engineers.
Strong user advocacy grounded in real user needs.
Curiosity and openness to emerging technologies such as AI.
You'll stand out if you have:
Experience in fintech, wealth management, enterprise, or another regulated industry.
Familiarity with front-end coding and how front ends are built.
Facilitation skills for leading workshops and aligning cross-functional partners.
Experience designing AI-native surfaces, human-in-the-loop flows, review-and-approve patterns, and confidence or uncertainty states.
Experience incorporating new tools and methods into your workflow.
