About the role

The Opportunity

We're looking for a strategic, detail-oriented, analytically-minded Senior Member Engagement Manager, Lifecycle to join Carrot's Growth & Engagement team. In this role, you'll be responsible for end-to-end project management, QA, and data analysis – driving development, launch, and optimization of member-facing email, SMS, and Push communications that guide a member through a personalized health journey. Candidates should have proven experience in launching member-facing lifecycle programs and one-off growth campaigns from the ground-up, optimizing existing automated experiences, proactively keeping stakeholders updated, and conducting performance analysis and reporting that guides program optimization.

What You’ll Own

In this role, you will:

  • Lead new lifecycle experiences for emerging health journeys and programs by partnering with Marketing Operations, Content, Data, and Product from concept through post-launch, and serving as the G&E lifecycle expert on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Maintain and optimize lifecycle engagement programs end-to-end, including strategy, audience segmentation, cross-functional execution, and performance analysis across multiple member health journeys and channels simultaneously.
  • Drive member engagement and retention through data: own analysis across your programs, develop and test hypotheses, interpret results, and communicate findings in ways that directly guide strategy and program direction.
  • Partner with our broader G&E team on lifecycle strategy, contributing to Carrot's approach to member conversion and long-term engagement through experimentation, personalization, and AI-assisted workflow development.
  • Serve as the G&E lifecycle partner for product GTM releases, bringing B2C communications and technical expertise to cross-functional work with Product and PMM, and integrating new product features into existing programs for sustained member engagement.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 12–18 months, you will have:

  • Taken full ownership of multiple lifecycle engagement programs, with measurable improvements in member engagement and retention.
  • Established yourself as a trusted, proactive cross-functional partner across Growth & Engagement teams, Content, Analytics, Product, and Customer Success.
  • Incorporated AI tooling into your workflow to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your day-to-day, and begun integrating it into the broader lifecycle program so AI is measurably leading to increased efficiencies or engagement performance.
  • Built a strong, scalable experimentation cadence – testing hypotheses, experimenting before automating, drawing insights, and analyzing learnings to meaningfully improve member lifecycle impact.

About You

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 7-10 years of professional experience in lifecycle, engagement, or other marketing roles - preferably in B2C health benefits, wellness, or regulated consumer tech.
  • Experience owning B2C lifecycle programs end-to-end, including strategy, journey design, technical build, performance analysis, and optimization; understanding of personalization strategies in CRM programs, such as dynamic content blocks, conditional logic, Liquid, or lifecycle journey mapping.
  • Data and results-driven: you’re analytical, can develop performance hypotheses, measure results with statistical judgment, and communicate findings to stakeholders in a way that influences strategy.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills: you've led projects across Marketing Operations, Content, Data, Product, and Customer Success, and communicate clearly and proactively throughout.
  • Familiarity with AI tools in a marketing context, whether for content ideation, audience analysis, workflow automation, or personalization.
  • Known by stakeholders and colleagues for out-of-this-world attention to detail, catching details and mitigating risk.
  • Experience partnering closely with Marketing Operations or technical teams on campaign setup, testing, QA, and email production workflows; familiarity with email marketing tools or CRM platforms such as Blueshift, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Campaign.io, or similar, and working with complex segmentation or personalization logic.

Nice to Have

While not required, we would be especially excited if you bring:

  • Hands-on experience executing email campaigns, journey flows, audience segments, or dynamic content in CRM or email platforms.
  • Experience supporting product or feature GTM launches, including segmented B2C announcement campaigns and integration of new releases into automated lifecycle programs with measurable results.
  • Experience managing or coordinating translated marketing content across multiple languages and regions.

Why This Role Matters

The G&E team is responsible for delivering Carrot's benefit offerings into timely, personalized communication programs that help members take action and this role sits at the center of that work.

As Carrot continues to expand into new health journeys and programs, the G&E member engagement & lifecycle team needs to grow with it. This role is built for someone who wants to own meaningful programs end-to-end and build new ones from the ground up - not just maintain a steady state.
