Procurement Buyer

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on its extensive IP and patent portfolio, designed for commercial and government applications.

Summary:

• Responsible for assisting in selecting and purchasing quality products at the Midland production facility from global and domestic suppliers, along with ensuring on-time delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Buy direct material parts from global suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers.
• Provide buying benefits such as savings, better lead times, and improved terms.
• Ensure timely supply from ordering through delivery.
• Place purchase orders for direct material needs in NetSuite.
• Maintain delivery records and estimated dates in NetSuite.
• Keep supplier and parts attributes up to date in NetSuite.
• Own supplier lead times and improve them.
• Resolve procurement-receiving issues and disputed items.
• Resolve supplier accounts payable disputes.
• Assist in maintaining current inventory.
• Assist in researching, analyzing, and forecasting current and future buying trends and products.
• Maintain relationships with assigned wholesalers, vendors, and suppliers.
• Assist in negotiating contracts with selected wholesalers, vendors, and suppliers.
• Support procurement projects for goods and services.
• Assist with managing procurement and inventory levels.
• Maintain healthy commercial relationships with suppliers.
• Maintain relationships with internal customers.
• Clearly report progress and expected deliveries.
• Travel infrequently as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, NetSuite, or related software.
• Ability to compile information and data to make decisions.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ERP purchasing modules.
• Experience negotiating supply chain contracts.
• Three years of relevant experience for Senior Buyer level.
