About the role
Position Overview
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and processes for existing and new products. Drive process improvements, optimize equipment performance, support capital projects, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess product concepts and designs for manufacturability.
- Develop manufacturing methods and processes meeting safety, quality, cost, and production objectives.
- Conduct proof-of-principle and proof-of-concept studies.
- Design and implement layouts, tooling, fixturing, programming, testing, and documentation.
- Improve production methods using Six Sigma and engineering best practices.
- Provide technical troubleshooting support for manufacturing operations.
- Lead safety, Kaizen, continuous improvement, equipment capability, process optimization, automation, and capital investment initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Develop equipment lifecycle plans and support commissioning, validation, qualification, maintenance, upgrades, and acceptance testing.
- Manage capital equipment projects, including scope, budget, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
- Coordinate Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and New Product Introduction teams.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
Experience:
- Associate Level: 0-3 years of manufacturing experience.
- Mid-Level: Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience.
- Senior Level: 4-8 years of manufacturing experience.
- Experience with manufacturing processes, tooling, fixturing, continuous improvement, technical documentation, and training materials.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD/CAM software, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of statistics, capability studies, tooling, gauging, and Six Sigma.
- Strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PFMEA, Lean Manufacturing, Core Quality Tools, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, concurrent engineering, CAD software, ERP, MES, PLM systems, and robotic manufacturing equipment.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, project management, time management, prioritization, change management, and attention-to-detail skills.
Technology Stack:
- Microsoft Office Suite, CAD/CAM software, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, NetSuite ERP, Solumina MES, PLM systems, statistical analysis tools, Six Sigma methodologies, and quality tools.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in office and manufacturing environments; stand, walk, and move through production facilities; use computers and office equipment; occasionally lift and carry materials, tools, or equipment; safely work around machinery; and travel between production areas for equipment evaluations and project activities.
