About the role

About the Role:

As an AV Production Specialist, you'll own the day-to-day operation of the event technology behind how Anthropic communicates — the all-hands, the executive presentations, and the live broadcasts. You are accountable for the technical outcome of these productions from the moment a request arrives through to the follow-up after the room clears, and you are the technical partner executives, events teams, and communications partners rely on.

This is an operations role with engineering depth behind it. You'll work across the technology stack used by broadcast engineering, with your center of gravity in execution and service. You'll keep event spaces ready through preventative maintenance and be a calm, capable presence that executives, communications partners, and event producers trust. Your work directly enables collaboration and transparency that advance Anthropic's AI safety mission.

Responsibilities:

Live Event Production & Run-of-Show:

  • Own the technical execution of live and hybrid events, from small executive presentations to company-wide all-hands broadcasts reaching thousands of participants.
  • Serve as technical director for live productions, including executive presentations and company-wide broadcasts.
  • Operate production systems during live events, including video switchers, audio consoles, camera systems, playback, and streaming encoders.
  • Build and run the technical run-of-show, including cue sheets, source lists, rehearsal schedules, and backup plans.
  • Direct contractors and onsite technicians during productions, delegating clearly under time pressure.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate complex production issues with clear diagnostic context.
  • Communicate status, risk, and resolution to non-technical stakeholders in clear, calm, jargon-free language.
  • Handle confidentiality and access requirements for sensitive sessions, including recording and streaming controls.

Event Intake, Scoping & Scheduling:

  • Own the event technology intake process end-to-end, including request triage, technical scoping conversations, and staffing.
  • Right-size the production approach to the event type by translating stakeholder goals into an equipment and staffing plan.
  • Take on novel events and create repeatable templates, runbooks, or gear lists.
  • Maintain the event technology calendar and coordinate coverage across the AV Operations team.
  • Partner with Events, Internal Communications, and Workplace teams on lead times, expectations, and readiness.

Support Operations & Room Health:

  • Execute preventative maintenance programs and recurring room sweeps across event spaces and conference rooms.
  • Maintain and test equipment inventory, including wireless microphones, cameras, and portable production gear before events.
  • Contribute to runbooks, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base documentation.
  • Surface recurring operational pain points to AV Engineering as candidates for systemic fixes.

You May Be a Good Fit If You:

  • Have 8+ years of hands-on experience in AV operations, live event production, or technical event support.
  • Have owned the technical side of live productions end-to-end, rather than operating only a single position.
  • Bring working fluency across event audio, video, camera, and streaming systems, with enough depth to diagnose problems.
  • Are energized by being the front-facing technical partner to executives and event producers.
  • Bring structure to ambiguity by building systems for repeatable events.

Strong Candidates May Also Have:

  • Technical direction experience for corporate broadcasts, conferences, or multi-camera productions.
  • Experience with the Q-SYS DSP platform.
  • Experience with PTZ and professional camera systems, camera control units, and multi-camera workflows.
  • Experience with video conferencing platforms and hardware, including Google Meet, Zoom Rooms, and hybrid meeting technologies.
  • Experience with live streaming workflows, including encoders, encoding settings, and contribution and delivery protocols such as RTMP, SRT, and HLS.
  • Network fundamentals for AV-over-IP, including multicast, VLANs, QoS, and bandwidth management.
  • Experience with ticketing and workflow systems such as Jira, including building intake or request workflows.
  • Experience coordinating AV contractors, integrators, and labor for event coverage.

Benefits:

Anthropic offers competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and office space for collaboration.
