About the role

About the Role

The Business Development Manager will support the Chief Nuclear Officer and other Antares leadership in expanding the company's international business. The role covers identifying and helping secure customers, developing market-entry strategies, building government partnerships, and advancing commercial agreements, including regulatory, financing, and related execution requirements. The manager will engage governments, defense and energy ministries, regulators, utilities, financing organizations, and private companies across global markets from initial evaluation through negotiation and deal closure.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage an international opportunity pipeline and recommend priority markets.
  • Develop market-entry strategies covering customer needs, government priorities, regulatory pathways, financing, partnerships, and competition.
  • Build relationships with governments, ministries, utilities, contractors, private companies, partners, and customers.
  • Coordinate proposals, presentations, partnership structures, agreements, financing approaches, regulatory strategies, and internal approvals.
  • Support senior leaders through customer engagement, negotiations, and deal closure.
  • Represent Antares at customer meetings, government engagements, and industry events.
  • Monitor market, policy, procurement, regulatory, and financing developments and provide recommendations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, finance, regulatory, policy, and program teams.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience involving international governments, international customers, and/or business development, preferably in energy or defense.
  • Ability to build relationships across government and commercial stakeholders and advance complex opportunities.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • MBA or master's degree in international affairs or national security studies.
  • Ability to communicate complex science, technology, energy, defense, regulation, and finance concepts clearly.
  • Experience with government agreements, regulatory strategy, project financing, commercial negotiations, and international market-entry planning.
  • Experience supporting senior executives through complex negotiations and commercial deals.
  • Strong writing, attention to detail, and decision-ready recommendations.
  • Foreign-language proficiency is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid passport and ability to travel up to 25%, including internationally.
  • Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary.
  • Ability to work from Antares' Washington, DC office.
