About the role

ABOUT THE TEAM:

Maritime Digital Production (MDP) is the software and digital systems function within Anduril's Heavy Metal division. The team builds and deploys the technology stack that powers Anduril's shipbuilding factories, including data infrastructure, manufacturing execution systems, scheduling engines, and AI systems.

MDP operates at the boundary between Operational Technology and Information Technology. Its systems connect factory-floor machines, edge compute, OT networks, enterprise platforms, and cloud infrastructure. The team incubates solutions near the production line, validates them with operators, hardens them for reliability and security, and scales them across multiple sites.

ABOUT THE JOB:

As a Senior Product Manager for Applied Intelligence, you will own the product strategy, roadmap, and success metrics for AI-powered applications that transform manufacturing. You will build and deploy ML pipelines for factory sensing, document processing, and drawing conversion, and develop RAG-enabled tools and agentic AI workflows that eliminate manual toil. You will own deployment onto the factory floor and into business workflows, working with operators, engineers, and business teams.

Product Strategy:

You will craft the vision, high-level roadmap, and critical dependencies for AI in manufacturing over the next 6 to 12 months. You will balance breakthrough AI capabilities with operational constraints and work across ML engineering, data engineering, manufacturing, and business operations teams.

Product Prioritization:

You will set clear outcomes with engineering, design, and operations partners. You will prioritize AI use cases based on operational impact, technical feasibility, and data readiness, while supporting rapid experimentation and iteration.

Problem Discovery and Solution Generation:

You will observe operations on the factory floor, speak with technicians, quality inspectors, document processors, and business operators, identify where AI adds genuine value, capture workflows and failure modes, and translate them into scoped AI product requirements.

Product Execution:

You will help take solutions from data collection through model deployment and user adoption. You will communicate model capabilities and limitations and establish standards for deploying, monitoring, validating, and supporting AI products in production.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Develop strategy for AI-powered manufacturing applications, including computer vision, document processing, RAG-enabled tools, and agentic AI workflows.
  • Define the product roadmap for ML pipelines covering factory sensing, quality inspection, anomaly detection, drawing conversion, work-instruction digitization, and intelligent automation.
  • Gather and refine functional and non-functional requirements, including model accuracy, inference latency, explainability, and human-in-the-loop requirements.
  • Communicate AI roadmap and delivery expectations across stakeholders.
  • Observe factory-floor and business operations to identify opportunities for AI.
  • Own deployment and adoption of AI systems, including change management, user training, trust-building, and feedback loops.
  • Navigate cross-team dynamics across Applied Intelligence, data engineering, software engineering, and business operations.
  • Incorporate RAG pipelines, agentic AI, and computer vision into manufacturing applications.
  • Define and track KPIs covering model performance, user adoption, operational impact, and ROI.
  • Drive adoption of AI-powered tools across production, quality, engineering, and business operations.
  • Partner with ML engineers and data scientists on training data quality, model validation, and continuous improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years in software product management or a similar product-development leadership role, including at least 3+ years focused on AI/ML products.
  • Expertise in manufacturing, industrial operations, or AI/ML applications in operational environments.
  • Experience defining requirements for AI/ML systems, including performance targets, data requirements, human-in-the-loop workflows, and explainability.
  • Strong understanding of the ML product lifecycle, including data collection, training, validation, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
  • Experience managing production AI products involving computer vision, NLP, document processing, or intelligent automation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working directly with end users in operational environments.
  • Ability to work across ML engineering, data engineering, software engineering, and business operations teams.
  • Ability to balance engineering, design, data science, and business stakeholder requirements.
  • Ability to craft AI product strategy for 6 to 12 months into the future.
  • Experience maturing AI products from proof of concept to enterprise-grade production.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience owning AI/ML products for manufacturing, including computer vision, predictive maintenance, document processing, or intelligent automation.
  • Hands-on manufacturing experience, including time on assembly lines or in production facilities.
  • Familiarity with LLMs, RAG systems, agentic AI frameworks, and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Experience with MLOps, model deployment pipelines, observability, performance monitoring, and drift detection.
  • Understanding of computer vision applications such as automated inspection, defect detection, or pose estimation.
  • Experience with document extraction, intelligent document processing, or automated drawing conversion.
  • Experience in hyper-growth startup-like environments.
  • Background in AI change management, user training, trust-building, and expectation management.
  • Familiarity with AI ethics, explainability, and human-in-the-loop design.
  • Experience with UI/UX tools such as Figma and interfaces that surface AI predictions with confidence levels and human override capabilities.
  • Understanding of AI integrations with ERP, MES, PLM, and quality management systems.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Benefits:

Anduril offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package available at little to no cost to employees, supporting health, recovery, and future needs.
