About the role

ABOUT THE TEAM:

The Launched Effects team at Anduril is responsible for scaling the manufacturing and delivery of the Altius family of systems, including the Altius-600 and Altius-700. Altius is an air-launched effects platform for the U.S. military and its allies. These tube-launched, autonomous aerial systems require precision manufacturing of advanced composites, complex avionics, and modular payload integrations.

The team includes manufacturing engineers, quality specialists, and production operations experts focused on optimizing assembly lines, implementing automated testing, designing for manufacturing, and building resilient supply chains.

ABOUT THE JOB:

As a Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer, you will ensure systems are tested to stringent standards and that production meets required throughput. You will develop solutions for difficult testing problems and continuously improve automation, throughput, user interfaces, and data analytics.

This position is permanently based in Ashville, OH, and requires candidates to temporarily relocate for a comprehensive 3-month training program: 1 month in Santa Ana, CA, followed by approximately 2 months in Atlanta, GA. Anduril will provide corporate housing, transportation, and travel accommodations during this training period.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Maintain ownership of test activities in production and ensure production test flow. Provide hands-on troubleshooting and resolve complex electrical issues found during testing.
  • Maintain test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkouts and acceptance testing to component-level in-process validation.
  • Improve and sustain existing test systems to improve automation, consistency, total cycle time, and test coverage.
  • Improve and sustain test work instructions in MES and train technicians on equipment use as required.
  • Develop a library of common failure modes with troubleshooting guides and diagrams.
  • Determine root cause of product failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to support customer returns and failure analysis.
  • Analyze test data, document results, and provide detailed reports identifying defects and improvement areas.
  • Collaborate with design engineers on product enhancements based on test outcomes.
  • Optimize test strategies to reduce test time without compromising quality.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for testing processes and methodologies.
  • Execute testing as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on manufacturing test and product sustainment.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Ubuntu, Python, and NixOS.
  • Familiarity with electronics test equipment such as power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, data acquisition, and measurement sensors.
  • Strong root cause analysis skills for non-conforming hardware.
  • Experience with hands-on system troubleshooting.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Product Life Cycle (PLM) systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and Test Execution Systems (TES).
  • Experience with computer hardware communication protocols, including USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, PCIe, HDMI, and CAN.
  • Experience integrating electrical, mechanical, and software/firmware systems.
  • Experience with MES system integration.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Python, LabVIEW, and/or MATLAB for data parsing and visualization.
  • Experience with test automation, PCBA design, and mechanical design.
  • Experience with contract manufacturers testing PCBA/electronic assemblies and knowledge of PCBA testing standards and methods.
  • Experience with ESS-related testing, including thermal and vibration testing.
  • Active security clearance.

Benefits:

Anduril offers a comprehensive, competitive benefits package available at little to no cost to employees, supporting health, recovery, and future needs.
