Senior Product Sourcing Engineer

About the Team:

The Launched Effects team at Anduril is responsible for scaling the manufacturing and delivery of the Altius family of systems, including the Altius-600 and Altius-700. The team works on tube-launched autonomous aerial systems requiring precision manufacturing of advanced composites, complex avionics, and modular payload integrations for ISR, electronic warfare, and kinetic strike capabilities.

The team includes manufacturing engineers, quality specialists, and production operations experts focused on optimizing assembly lines, implementing automated testing, designing for manufacturing, and building resilient supply chains.

About the Job:

The Senior Sourcing Engineer drives strategic supply network development and cost management for product hardware across its lifecycles by collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and manufacturing.

This position can be permanently based in Costa Mesa, CA or Ashville, OH, and requires temporary relocation for a comprehensive three-month training program: one month in Santa Ana, CA, followed by approximately two months in Atlanta, GA. Corporate housing, transportation, and travel accommodations are provided during the training period.

What You'll Do:

• Conduct supplier selection for a specific product using the approved supplier list.
• Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development through concept scoping, feature trade-off analysis, should-cost and clean-sheet models, and joint design development.
• Drive development and consolidation of the manufacturing bill of materials with Quality and Manufacturing.
• Manage all NPI component procurement accurately and on time.
• Manage CAPEX throughout NPI.
• Conduct value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility.
• Complete bill of materials risk assessments, including alternate component sourcing.
• Ensure completion of vendor component qualifications ahead of production.
• Reduce complexity through commonality optimization and component and supplier rationalization.
• Lead cost engineering activities to align bottoms-up cost curves with product cost and maximize total cost of ownership across the product lifecycle.
• Manage cost issues such as tariffs, import and export costs, and cost inflation.

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience, ideally including design and development of electronics and/or mechanical devices.
• Advanced sourcing experience, including experience as a commodity or sourcing manager.
• Supplier development experience covering technology, process, or supply chain areas.
• Experience with early supplier engagement before product or engineering requirements are finalized.
• Expertise in value or procurement engineering or total-cost-of-ownership work at the component and product level.
• Familiarity with developing high-tech products in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, such as BSME or BSEE, or another related technical degree preferred.
• U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.
