About the role
Job Description:
Develop, validate, and maintain high-quality plant models supporting XIL, virtual validation, and system integration activities.
Build scalable, reusable models across multiple vehicle domains and ensure alignment with system-level requirements and verification workflows.
Collaborate with system design, architecture, controls, and testing organizations to enable virtual development and validation using model-based techniques.
Perform deep technical work in modeling and simulation, contribute to system-level development and validation, and build toward technical leadership or system architecture roles.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain 0D/1D plant models representing physical systems such as propulsion, chassis, ADAS, and infotainment.
Ensure models meet appropriate fidelity levels across concept, design, integration, and validation phases.
Perform model validation and correlation against requirements and test data.
Support model reduction and optimization for simulation efficiency.
Integrate plant models into XIL workflows and environments.
Support virtual testing, requirement validation, and system verification activities.
Collaborate with controls and system engineers to align plant models with control strategies.
Contribute to continuous integration pipelines for model development and validation.
Work with system and functional design teams, architecture and simulation framework teams, testing and validation teams, suppliers, and tool vendors.
Ensure plant models are compatible with simulation platforms, support cross-domain integration, and enable efficient data exchange and reuse.
Follow established modeling best practices and standards.
Participate in model reviews, quality checks, and validation processes.
Maintain model documentation, version control, and configuration management.
Support improvements to model fidelity and performance, reusability and scalability, and simulation efficiency.
Contribute to tool evaluation, benchmarking, and process enhancements.
Requirements / Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in plant modeling, simulation, or V&V environments.
Strong understanding of Model-Based Development (MBD) and virtual testing methods.
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink or similar modeling tools.
Knowledge of physical system modeling (0D/1D).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Knowledge of CI/CD tools and methods.
Experience in one scripting language.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in an automotive OEM.
Familiarity with xIL environments (MIL/SIL/HIL).
Understanding of automotive V&V processes and standards.
Experience with model validation and correlation, variant/configuration management, and version control systems.
Domain experience in propulsion, ADAS, chassis, or infotainment.
Key Competencies:
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Ability to work in cross-functional teams.
Attention to detail and commitment to model quality.
Adaptability to Agile development environments.
Additional Requirements:
All candidates selected for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening as a condition of hire.
