Becoming a Senior Reserving Actuary at Akur8 is the ideal opportunity to influence the future of reserving using cutting edge technology in the insurance industry and to have a visible effect on the product roadmap of one of the world’s foremost insurtech companies.

This position interacts with Sales, Product, R&D, Marketing, Engineering, and Leadership. You will be a subject matter expert and act as a translator between these departments and the language of insurance, actuaries, and clients.

Our Reserving Actuaries are responsible for driving process modernization for clients using Akur8’s proprietary insurance reserving software, Arius and ReservingOne. The role involves helping clients integrate Akur8 reserving software into their operational workflow, understanding their data, processes, and reporting requirements, and training them on the use of the solution.

Key responsibilities of this role will include the following:

• Leading proof of concepts and demos of Akur8 reserving solutions: Quickly identify prospect requirements, adapt presentations for key stakeholders, and design proofs of concept addressing questions about software applicability.
• Product roadmap guidance: Provide industry expertise to the product team, and review and recommend designs and workflows for the reserving software.
• Client training & implementation: Lead client training and implementation efforts through customized onboarding, software adoption, and continuous support.
• Industry Thought Leadership: Present at industry conferences and Akur8 Academy webinars.
• Client advocacy: Gather and share client feedback with sales and product teams.
• Solution mastery: Demonstrate knowledge of insurance finance, actuarial calculations, reserving analysis concepts, and reserve analysis reporting needs.
• Training and support for solution partners: Develop relationships with consulting and technology partners to support training and client delivery.

This is a hybrid or remote position, with approximately five days of travel per month, for someone based in the Eastern or Central time zones of the United States.

The successful applicant must meet the following criteria to be considered for this position:

• ACAS or FCAS credentials
• 5+ years of experience with P&C reserving in an actuarial department or consulting role
• 1+ year of experience using either Arius or ResQ reserving solutions
• Deep knowledge of enterprise P&C reserving practices
• Experience using or building actuarial solutions and leading software implementations
• Strong understanding of insurance reserving processes and client requirements
• Strong client management and communication skills
• Experience managing projects across management, IT, and analyst teams
• Willingness to travel approximately five working days per month
• Native-level fluency in English

Bonus criteria:

• Experience drafting training materials and/or user-targeted documentation

Qualified applicants may be based in the Eastern or Central time zones. The role may require occasional travel to North American offices in New York City, Atlanta, and Montreal.
