About the role

Overview

AidKit is revolutionizing how aid reaches those who need it most. We're on a mission to empower nonprofits and governments to deliver aid with unprecedented efficiency. We are seeking bilingual English/Ilocano Review & Support Specialists to join our remote dynamic team on a fixed-term, W2 position for a Maui United Way pilot program serving the ALICE demographic providing financial & resource support. This position is hybrid in Maui County, Hawaii, with most work performed remotely but requested availability for occasional in-person outreach and other events as needed.

About the Role

The Review & Support Specialist (RSS) will use AidKit’s platform to provide remote support for the Kamaʻāina Credit for ALICE Households, a program led by Maui United Way serving Maui County, Hawaii. This pilot program will support Maui County’s Asset Limited Income Employed (ALICE) households by providing financial assistance and access to essential resources. The role may also require attending occasional in-person events such as outreach or meetings with the County or Community Based Organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to applicant support tickets via phone, email, and text using AidKit's custom tools, ensuring accurate, friendly, and timely responses.
  • Leverage AidKit’s custom platform to conduct thorough application reviews carefully and quickly, validating correct documents, flagging where corrected documentation is needed or potential fraud to ensure compliance with program and documentation requirements.
  • Participate in program-specific training sessions and RSS team meetings.
  • Collaborate with other RSS and Managers to identify common applicant issues, reduce fraud, and improve AidKit’s overall recipient support process.
  • Troubleshoot applicant issues during the application and payment processes to ensure timely resolution.
  • Perform additional applicant support & review tasks as needed based on program demands

    • Live in Maui County with deep knowledge of local culture and ALICE population
    • Self-motivated and effective in managing tasks autonomously in high-volume settings
    • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the confidence and professionalism to represent AidKit in person to partners such as county agencies and nonprofit organizations
    • Quick analytical thinking to decide whether documents are valid, need re-submission or fraud is suspected
    • Keen eye for detail and adherence to protocol.
    • Tech-savvy and able to quickly learn AidKit's systems (training provided).
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Compassionate and sensitive to the nuances of working with vulnerable populations.
  • Nice to Have:
    • Experience in customer service and application review in large scale programs
    • Flexible schedule and ability to adjust to changing circumstances
    • Bilingual proficiency in English and Ilocano for effective communication
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Reliable computer and stable internet connection.
    • Available to work up to 19 hours per week.
    • Ability to support in-person application assistance events with partners as requested throughout Maui County.

Benefits
