The BIM Modeler II is expected to produce accurate, constructible models while actively supporting coordination efforts and helping maintain project BIM standards across multiple systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Modeling & Production:

  • Independently develop and maintain electrical BIM models from design through construction documentation phases
  • Model complex electrical systems including power distribution, lighting and lighting control systems, fire alarm and low-voltage systems, equipment connections and feeder routing
  • Produce coordinated sheets, views, schedules, and construction documentation
  • Review and incorporate RFIs, submittals, design revisions, and field changes into models
  • Ensure model accuracy, constructability, and completeness prior to coordination milestones

Coordination & Collaboration:

  • Actively participate in coordination meetings with other trades, including mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural
  • Run or assist with clash detection workflows using Navisworks or similar tools
  • Track, assign, and resolve coordination issues within assigned areas

  • Exposure to BIM coordination environments on large commercial or industrial projects

Required Skills & Competencies:

Technical Skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Revit (MEP electrical tools)
  • Working knowledge of Navisworks Manage (clash detection and coordination workflows)
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction systems, including power distribution and grounding, lighting systems and controls, and low-voltage and specialty systems
  • Ability to interpret complex construction documents and specifications
  • Understanding of construction sequencing and field installation practices

Behavioral Competencies:

Performance Metrics:

Performance is evaluated based on:

  • Model accuracy and reduction of coordination issues
  • Clash resolution effectiveness and turnaround time
  • Ability to meet deadlines with minimal rework
  • Participation and contribution in coordination meetings
  • Quality and constructability of deliverables
  • Responsiveness to RFIs, field input, and design changes
  • Support provided to Tier I team members
